The plant likes a sunny habitat.

Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.

It can tolerate -6.7 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.

TIP for you:

The plant forms a small red-leaved clump. Especially in sunlight, the shades of green are complemented by the red that this low-growing plant brings to a succulent garden.

Crassula platyphylla, commonly called Crassula nudicaulis var. platyphylla, is a succulent plant that grows on dry rocky slopes, especially in exposed positions.

The broadly oblong to rounded leaves are characterised by a smooth surface. The colour of the leaves may vary depending on the amount of light and temperature. It is common to find various shades of green, but when there is sufficient sunlight or cool weather, the upper half of the leaves turn a deep red, giving the plant an elegant and exotic appearance. The lower leaves dry naturally. It grows as a low shrub with short, more or less branched and slightly woody red stems. The plant usually reaches a maximum height of 12 cm, making it an ideal choice for small spaces.

Small greenish flowers appear in spring and sometimes again in late summer.

Crassula platyphylla is an undemanding succulent plant that requires plenty of light. It is suitable for beginners in cultivation. Its pretty colouring makes it an ideal choice for succulent gardens, where the smooth leaves delight with a play of green shades and red colouring.
