Crassula ovata Minor
Ideally in a sunny location, if we have the opportunity, the plant can be summered.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.
It can tolerate -1.1 °C in the short term. The plant is not hardy.
In full sun, the leaves turn beautifully. The leaves turn bronze and red in particular.
Crassula ovata Minor, also known as Crassula ovata Minima, is a charming cultivar of the classic Crassula ovata with small leaves. The word Minor also refers to these. The original plant is native to South Africa.
In sunny locations, the leaves of Crassula ovata Minor take on a bronze tinge and their edges turn red. They are stiff and smaller than the classic form. This fat plant has a strong stem and tree-like growth. It can reach a height of up to 75 cm in several years.
Crassula flowers rarely, usually in winter. The flowers are small, star-shaped and coral pink.
This small-leaved fathead miniature is ideal for succulent bonsai. It grows more slowly than the classic Crassula ovata and is also drought tolerant. This small-leaved succulent is a great choice not only for shaping, but also for adding a splash of colour to your collection.
