Ideally placed in a sunny location, can tolerate partial shade.

Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.

It can tolerate -1.1 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.

TIP for you:

The plant is particularly striking with its bright colouring. In addition to the green colour, the leaves have streaks of ivory and the edges turn a sharp contrasting red in the sun.

Crassula ovata Hummel's Sunset variegata is a fascinating similar form of Hummel's Sunset, with attractive leaf colour.

The leaves of this plant turn green with ivory and pale yellow stripes. The leaves have red edges which intensify when the plant is grown in full sun. The leaves are thick, fleshy, rounded and up to 5 cm long. It grows as an elegantly branched, succulent shrub, reaching a height of up to 90 cm. However, it can take many years to reach this height and in our conditions it grows rather shorter.

In late winter to early spring the plant produces star-shaped white flowers with pink undertones. The flowers form in conspicuous clusters at the end of the branches.

Crassula ovata Hummel's Sunset variegata is characterised by its relatively fast growth and very attractive foliage colouring. The plant can be fertilised at your discretion, ideally with a cactus and succulent fertiliser. This is a very popular plant with our customers, who are impressed by its colour.
