TIP for you:

The plant plays with all colours. It is a very colourful plant that surprises with its stunning colour palette.

Crassula ovata Hummel's Sunset is an enchanting cultivar of Crassula ovata, native to South Africa. This colourful gem was bred in 1961 in California by legendary botanist Ed Hummel. The cultivar is also known as the Golden Jade Tree.

The rounded leaves boast a kitsch combination of green, yellow and red that changes depending on the sunlight. The tree grows up to 90 cm tall and can have a single main stem or branch slightly from the base. The younger branches tend to be deep red and contrast strongly with the coloured leaves. The oldest parts of the stems are slightly woody and covered with a borage.

Hummel's Sunset flowers are white or pale pink and appear in compact clusters at the ends of the branches from late autumn to early spring. In the Czech Republic, they tend to flower less frequently.

This one is easily shaped by radical pruning to achieve a dense and compact crown. However, sites without chlorophyll are susceptible to the first direct sun, which can cause sunburn. It is therefore important to gradually adapt the plant to stronger sunlight before placing it in full sun. Hummel's Sunset is a true succulent gem that will bring vibrant color and playfulness to your home.
