Crassula muscosa monstrosa
The plant likes a sunny location, can tolerate partial shade.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Watering should be reduced in winter.
Tolerates cold temperatures around freezing point, but is not hardy.
The monstrous form is distinguished primarily by its denser growth of small leaves and twisted stems. It also grows a little slower and more robust.
This is a monstrous form of Crassula muscosa, native to Namibia and South Africa. This native form is well known to every avid grower.
The plant is characterised by its tiny leaves, which grow close together and have a green colouring that can be affected by the intensity of sunlight. This monstrous form has even denser leaf growth than the original form. The stems are not cut in any way and the stems branch profusely. Old caraway may become woody and curl very sharply from a young age. However, some stems may grow normally, i.e. upright. The overall height of this plant is about 20 cm. It is slower in growth but has a more rigid plant body.
The monstrous form is unlikely to flower.
The shape and colour of the succulent is highly variable depending on the method of cultivation. It is an undemanding succulent and an unusual monstrous form for the genus Crassula. It will delight collectors of atypical shapes and interesting growth forms.
