Crassula Morgan Beauty
Ideally placed in a sunny location, but can tolerate partial shade.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter. Water moderately.
It can tolerate -3,9 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.
From winter to spring, the plant produces beautiful flowers in all shades of pink. This detail makes the plant an unforgettable succulent.
Crassula Morgan Beauty is a hybrid created by crossing Crassula perfoliata var. minor (also known as Crassula falcata) and Crassula mesembrianthemopsis. It takes its name from Dr. Meredith Morgan, a California optician and passionate grower and breeder of succulents who lived from 1887-1957. The plant first saw the light of day around 1945.
The plant is characterised by fleshy, silvery-green to purplish leaves that cling tightly to the stems. This compact succulent plant forms lateral shoots and reaches a height of up to 10 cm.
Another attraction of this plant is the large terminal racemes of sweetly scented dark pink flowers that appear from winter to spring. The tiny florets are durable and adorn the plant for many weeks.
The most important growing conditions are watering in small doses and plenty of sunlight. The plant must grow slowly to maintain its compact shape and characteristic leaf colouring. Water it lightly in winter, usually once a month, but only if the plant is beginning to shrivel visibly. It is important to avoid watering the leaves, especially if it is grown in a poorly ventilated area. This is because water on the leaves can cause rust spots. Even as an adult, this plant will not take up too much space, so it is ideal for growing in smaller containers. Crassula Morgan Beauty, with its pink inflorescence in a variety of shades, is a real succulent gem that will grace your succulent garden.
