Place the succulent in a sunny location.

Water after the substrate has dried out. Water more frequently than other succulents.

It can tolerate temperatures down to -3.9 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.

TIP for you:

If you place the plant outdoors, place it in full sun and limit watering, its leaves will take on a black colour. The overall appearance of the plant is then given a whole new dimension.

Crassula marginalis Rubra, also known by its botanical name Crassula pellucida subsp. marginalis Rubra, is a charming cultivar of the classic Crassula marginalis from South Africa. This succulent plant will win you over with its unique leaf colour and unpretentious nature.

It features beautiful purplish pink leaves that are edged in red and sometimes with a hint of yellow or green. The colour of the leaves can change depending on the amount of light and watering. For example, they take on a redder to blacker colour with more sun exposure. The fleshy, heart-shaped leaves grow in pairs on interlacing or twining branches. The plant usually grows to a height of 15 cm.

Flowering usually takes place from late spring to early summer, producing white flowers from the tips of the branches.

This very hardy plant can be shaped well by pinching the shoots into a more desirable growth form. If we provide the plant with a nutritious substrate and frequent watering it will grow very quickly. The succulent is suitable for a hanging pot. We also have the classic green-yellow, red-leaved and small-leaved forms in our shop. So there is plenty to choose from and you can choose which particular form you personally like best. The hardy Crassula marginalis Rubra will win you over with its unique leaf colouring, especially in the sun with its very dark shade.
