Crassula exilis subsp. cooperi
Place ideally in a sunny location.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter.
It can tolerate -3.9 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.
The plant will be at its best if placed in full sun. It will become hardier, the leaves will colour more beautifully and the plant will grow much better.
Crassula exilis subsp. cooperi was also known as Crassula cooperi and previously we had it on our e-shop as Crassula picturata. Since their natural habitats overlap and the plants are very similar, they are almost identical plants and distinguishing between them is sometimes very difficult.
It has grey-green to red leaves with dark pitted spots on the upper side of the leaf. The leaves tend to be flattened and their margins are densely toothed and hairy. The stems of the plant are covered with finely spreading hairs. The plant is small and has a ground growth.
The small bowl-shaped flowers are white to more or less pink in colour. They bloom during the summer.
A plant grown in full sun and fresh air is hardier, has beautifully coloured foliage and produces more abundant offsets. Fertilisation is not necessary, but it is advisable to be careful of prolonged waterlogging. There are several beautiful features of the plant that catch our eye. The interesting dark spots on the leaves, the red and white inflorescences and the hairs on the edges of the leaves make this plant an attractive succulent.
