Did you know?

The flowers often last for up to two months without fading or drying out.

Crassula capitella ssp. thyrsiflora, also known as Red Pagoda, is an impressive succulent characterized by its triangular leaves that form miniature pagodas in opposing pairs. These petals are reddish-purple in colour, which can turn to dark green in the shade.

The plant forms ground-covering and compact shrubs, reaching a height of up to 10 cm. Its miniature appearance is complemented by its striking leaf architecture, which looks very decorative. In addition, it has the ability to produce side branches, which contributes to a fuller appearance of the shrub.

During flowering, the stems begin to elongate, which can lead to a loss of the compact shape of the shrub. However, there is no need to be alarmed, as the tops will die back over time and be replaced by new shoots and the shrub will regain its beautiful, compact appearance. The flowers are small, mostly white, but in large numbers they create an attractive contrast with the dark foliage. The long duration of the flowers on the stems and the several months of flowering make the plant popular as a complementary succulent with flowers.

The succulent achieves a beautifully coloured appearance, especially when grown outdoors in full sun from late spring to autumn. This succulent beauty makes a great addition to a succulent collection or as a miniature for succulent gardens.
