Crassula capitella Campfire
Place ideally in a sunny position.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering. We can water more frequently than other species.
Can tolerate -6.7 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.
The epithet Campfire refers to the plant's fiery colouring, which is most noticeable when the plant is placed out in the sun.
Crassula capitella Campfire, also known as Crassula Blaze or Crassula Flame, is a succulent plant with fiery red leaves, and the original form is native to southern Africa. The name Campfire, perfectly describes the vibrant colours of the leaves, which change from pale green to shades of yellow, orange and red in full sun.
The fiery plant, with arching, weak, propeller-like leaves, grows to 15 cm tall and rather wide.
White or cream flowers appear in racemes on tall spikes in summer and autumn. However, flowering can cause the shrub to lose its compact shape and become taller. It is therefore advisable to cut off the emerging flowers.
Crassula capitella Campfire is ideal for communal containers, where its vibrant colours will brighten up the scenery. It is important to give the plant plenty of sunlight to maintain its fiery colour.
