Place the plant ideally in full sun.

Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.

If possible, overwinter in a cool place around 10 °C, it can tolerate short-term low frosts. The plant is not hardy.

TIP for you:

The bright green leaves with a red edge stand out beautifully next to other plants and brighten up not only the succulent garden but also your windowsill.

Crassula brevifolia subsp. brevifolia, also known as Crassula brevifolia, is a succulent plant with small fleshy leaves that grow in opposite pairs. The upper surface of the leaves is almost flat and triangular in shape, with a bright red border, while the underside has a rounded to strongly convex appearance. This shrub-like plant, with woody stems in older specimens, can grow up to 40 cm tall in the wild. However, in our growing conditions they are usually kept around 15 cm tall.

This succulent produces yellowish-green flowers, but rarely white flowers with a pink tinge may also occur. Crassula brevifolia flowers in winter, and after flowering I recommend removing the dried flowers.

The plant grows slowly and requires full sun for best colour. In the absence of sunlight, the foliage will take on a rather green colour. Occasional stem pruning can encourage branching and rejuvenate the plant. In winter, the plant naturally dries out from the bottom, forming a cyme. I recommend it especially to those who don't know what kind of beauty to place in a sunny spot to give it interesting colour. But it will also please those who would like to brighten up their collection.
