During the crossing process, the aim was to create a plant whose leaves would regularly grow in opposite pairs, creating a cross-like appearance. This has been achieved and the leaves form a sort of imaginary cross when viewed from above.
Crassula Benjamin, also known as Crassula Ben, is a charming succulent plant that is a cultivar grower. Crassula is generally native to South Africa.
This plant is characterized by its bright green color with a reddish tint on the edges of the leaves, which becomes more intense if the plant receives enough sunlight. The leaves are elongated and shaped like a rabbit's ear. They tend to be thick and elliptical. The succulent has a strong upright stem and grows as a dwarf shrub, reaching a height of up to 15 cm.
Flowers are rarely produced on this plant and grow clustered at the top of the elongated stem. They are usually small and pinkish-white.
Crassula Benjamin is a small and elegant cultivar that will become a beautiful plant wherever it is placed. The plant does not need any fertilizing. However, it should be protected from direct sun in spring so that the leaves do not burn. Due to its easy growing requirements and compact growth, this plant is gaining popularity among succulent enthusiasts.
