Crassula ausensis ssp. giessii
Place in a sunny position. If we have the opportunity, the succulent can be summered.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.
It can tolerate -3.9 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.
Native to the Namib Desert, where it grows in shallow rock pockets and crevices.
This tiny plant, formerly offered by us as Crassula ausensis var. tomentosa, captures the hearts of succulent lovers with its refined details. Its name is somewhat shrouded in mystery, some call it Crassula Coralita and it occasionally appears as Crassula ausensis ssp. giessii. Whatever the truth, one thing is certain: this succulent beauty will win you over. It is native to the harsh environment of the Namib Desert, where it has taken hold in shallow rock pockets and crevices.
Its green foliage, with a brown tinge in the sun, is edged with a red line and softly feathery - hairy to the touch. They form cute ground rosettes. The dwarf and abundantly branched habit produces spreading clumps growing up to 5 cm tall. Small white to cream flowers complete the delicate appearance of the plant.
It is not a large succulent, rather it impresses with its details and ground growth. It is ideal for growing in small pots or bowls and will become a window sill or succulent garden ornament.
