Ideally placed in a sunny location.

Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.

It can tolerate temperatures down to -3.9 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.

TIP for you:

The almost white, shell-shaped leaves have beautifully curled edges. The impressive bell-shaped flowers in orange to red add a striking contrast.

Cotyledon undulata is also known as Cotyledon mucronata, Cotyledon orbiculata Mucronata, Cotyledon undulata var. mucronata or Cotyledon orbiculata Undulata. The name Cotyledon orbiculata Mucronata was first published by Jean-Baptiste Lamarck in 1786. This plant is also known by the nickname Silver Ruffles, which refers to the silver leaves with wavy edges.

This Cotyledon has white and large leaves with a waxy coating on the surface. This variable species has pure white leaf margins that don't turn much purple even in summer. The leaves are shaped like shells and fall off naturally from the bottom. The plant has sturdy woody stems and a shrub-like shape, up to 60 cm tall.

The inflorescences are topped with drooping flowers that appear in summer and reach a height of 30 cm. The flowers are orange to red in colour and have a beautiful bell shape.

Cotyledon undulata is easy to grow. The main necessity is to be careful of overwatering. This Cotyledon is particularly striking for its shell-shaped, leathery leaves. The beautiful wavy edges make it a popular houseplant and the beautiful bell-shaped flowers enhance the overall impression.
