This plant is called Bear's paws. Its leaves are similar in shape and covered with fine hairs.

Cotyledon tomentosa, popularly called Bear's paws, is a succulent shrub native to South Africa. Bear's paws is found here in endemic populations in the area from Ladismith to Steytlerville. They prefer sheltered ravines with lower gravel slopes.

Its easily recognisable thick, fleshy leaves are green to grey-green and covered with fine hairs. The leaf margins are decorated with 3 to 10 reddish to dark red teeth arranged in a neat row. Older leaves gradually turn yellow and dry, revealing brown, woody carafes. These stems contrast with the young green leaves. This small, densely branched shrub grows to a height of 25 cm.

In spring, bell-shaped flowers appear on the plant in shades of pale yellow, orange, orange-red or pinkish.

Bear's Paws is an ideal plant for shaping. The dense branching and sturdy stems carrying a relatively heavy crown make them easy to shape into the desired look. Their attractiveness and unpretentiousness are guaranteed to win the heart of any plant lover. If you do not like this particular form do not despair. You can also find similar variants in our e-shop.
