The plant prefers sunny habitat and partial shade.

Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.

It can tolerate temperatures down to - 3.9 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.

TIP for you:

The plant is called Ice Plant. The leaves are a beautiful blue colour, which gives the impression that the succulent is covered in ice.

Corpuscularia lehmannii, also known by the synonyms Corpuscularia taylorii and Delosperma lehmannii, is called Ice Plant, referring to its appearance as if its leaves were covered in ice. It occurs naturally on dry hillsides from Uitenhage to Port Elizabeth in the Eastern Cape Province. Ideal growing conditions therefore correspond to the windowsills of warm apartments.

The grey-green leaves are arranged in opposite pairs, are tough and characterised by a trigonal shape. The dense foliage grows on long stems with numerous short branches. This succulent plant grows compactly to a height of 20 cm.

The flowers of Corpuscularia lehmannii are bright orange or yellow, giving the plant a contrasting visual appearance.

The leaves naturally shrink during the winter, then regain their size when watered. The plant also forms thickened roots. When transplanting, these roots can be raised above the surface of the substrate, giving the impression of a much older plant. This Ice Queen grows slowly and can be shaped by cutting into a tree-like form. Its magical blue colour and hardiness will win the hearts of all growers.
