Requires room temperature. The plant is not hardy.

TIP for you:

This is an unpretentious and very hardy narrow-leaved plant that can be grown as a climber or an overhanging plant.

Ceropegia linearis is called String of Needles. In English it is also called candlestick because of the specific shape of the flowers, which resemble candlesticks. To name a few, it is also sometimes called Ceropegia linearis subsp. linearis.

Its leaves are dark green, glabrous and somewhat fleshy, up to 5 cm long. The plant forms a cluster of slender stems that grow from a tuber. The tuber itself is up to 3 cm in diameter. Overall, the plants grow up to 2 metres long.

White to light purple flowers, up to 3 cm long, usually appear all year round, giving the plant an elegant and exotic appearance. These flowers resemble candlesticks.

Ceropegia linearis is a climbing or drooping semi-succulent plant that is easy to grow. It can be grown in a pot, but also in a hanging pot. If the plant gets too big, you can simply cut it back by cutting or twining the leaves into clumps. Fertilizing is not necessary, it grows quickly even without it, but if you fertilize it, you will encourage growth. It is a hardy and low-maintenance plant, so it will please any grower who decides to add it to their collection.
