Anacampseros rufescens Sunrise, also known as Anacampseros telephiastrum Variegata or Anacampseros telephiastrum Sunrise, is a variegated form of the classic plant native to South Africa.
The most interesting thing about the plant is undoubtedly its leaves. On each of them we can find a combination of yellow, turning into white, deep or lime green and red in various shades. The colours change as the season progresses, and in autumn the leaves can turn a bright pink. Tight hairs of an off-white colour grow between the leaves to help the plant fight the sun's rays. The succulent has a thick, fleshy stem and forms a small shrub reaching a height of around 10 cm.
The showy pink flowers open only in sunny weather. The fruit ripens very quickly and the seeds, which are quite large and light in colour, rattle when touched.
This miniature succulent plant tends to be semi-flaccid, especially in older and taller specimens. Its leaves may shrivel during the summer season in response to lack of water. However, growers can expect beautiful and colourful foliage that will stand out in their succulent garden.
