It can tolerate temperatures as low as -6,7 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.

Did you know?

The name namaquensis translates to Namibian. It also appears in many other plants and animals, such as Crassula namaquensis, Albuca namaquensis and Ceraria namaquensis.

Anacampseros namaquensis is sometimes also referred to as Thready Anacampseros - filamentous Anacampseros or also Anacampseros filamentosa subs. namaquensis. In the wild it grows on cliffs, rock faces and in crevices. It is often found in the company of Conophytum saxetanum or Tylecodon buchholzianus. However, discovery is not so easy, as it blends in well with the background, and if it is not flowering, every detail masks its presence.

Small, ovate to round leaves are covered with many bristles and white felt. The tips are truncate and the leaves grow to 5 mm in length and width. The small plant reaches a maximum of 12 cm in height and branches all the more profusely.

During summer, pink flowers appear, reaching up to 3 cm in diameter. They bloom in small clusters on stems up to 8 cm long.

The succulent does not benefit much from fertilisation. It is a camouflaged miniature from Namibia, but on closer examination it impresses with the elegant practicality it has acquired over the years.
