Did you know?

The attractive white colour can turn grey in the sun. The leaves are covered with bumps, so they are not completely smooth.

Aloe Lizard Lips is a fascinating succulent cultivar that captivates with its colours and sculptural leaf texture. There are two different versions of the origin of Lizard Lips:

The first gives the plant as a cultivar of Aloe rauhii. The latter is native to Madagascar.

The second Lizard Lips is a hybrid created by John Bleck. It was created by crossing Aloe descoingsii, Aloe calcairophila and the resulting plant was further crossed with Aloe bellatula.

Regardless of its origin, Aloe Lizard Lips boasts leaves colored green and white (and gray in full sun). The white spots are accentuated by the plastic effect as the leaf surface is bumpy. Leaf margins are creamy white and edged with tiny white teeth. The leaves form a neat, compact rosette up to 15 cm across, which is usually strong and hardy. The plant also forms lateral offsets.

The tubular flowers of Lizard Lips are peach-orange in colour and grow on flower stalks up to 45 cm tall, sometimes branching. They appear from late spring to early autumn, depending on the mood of the plant.

Aloe Lizard Lips is an undemanding succulent plant that requires only minimal care. It can be fertilised at your discretion (e.g. with cactus and succulent fertiliser). The succulent grows more slowly and impresses with its interesting white bumps and irregular patterning.
