Aeonium Sunburst cristata
Place the plant in a sunny position or in partial shade.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.
It can tolerate -1.1 °C in the short term. The plant is not hardy.
This is a crested and variegated plant in one form. It is therefore very popular both for its shape and the colour of its leaves.
Aeonium Sunburst cristata is a fascinating succulent plant that is a cristate form of Aeonium Sunburst. The genus Aeonium is native to the Canary Islands.
Aeonium Sunburst cristata has smaller leaves than the classic form. Their colour is a combination of green, yellow-white and in summer they turn pink around the edges. During the life of the succulent, the leaves change size. It may happen that the miniature leaves fall off and eventually grow larger or vice versa (see photo). The plant has a flat and relatively strong stem, which is easily able to support a very large crown. The trunk is narrower at the bottom than at the top and sometimes divides into many smaller ridges in the early stages of growth.
The cristate form of Aeonium Sunburst is unlikely to flower.
I recommend removing old leaves, which naturally dry out over time. In this species, it can be said that every plant is an original. It is therefore highly collectible and very popular due to its bright colours and interesting shapes.
