Aeonium Medusa
Place ideally in a sunny position.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. Reduce watering in winter.
Can tolerate down to -1.1 °C in the short term.
The colour of the leaves changes throughout the year. It depends on the season, the intensity and amount of sunlight and the alternation of day and night temperatures.
The name Aeonium Medusa refers to the mythical figure of Medusa, who had snakes for hair and everyone was petrified when looking into her eyes. It is a form of Aeonium Velour, which you can also find in our e-shop.
The leaves grow arranged in striking rosettes and are spoon-shaped with soft pointed ends and slightly furrowed edges. The colour of the leaves changes depending on the season and the amount of sunlight. It varies from cream with a green central band to deep red with a dark burgundy to almost black central band. At a younger age, Aeonium slowly branches out to form attractive clumps that grow up to 45 cm tall and 40 cm wide.
Flowering has not yet been observed in Medusa.
The succulent can be fertilised with cactus and succulent fertiliser. The prized form of Aeonium Medusa, like its mythical namesake, catches the eyes of its observers and impresses with its richly coloured colour changes throughout the year.
