Aeonium decorum Berry Nice
The plant likes a sunny location, can tolerate partial shade.
Always water a few days after the substrate has dried out. In winter, limit watering.
It can tolerate temperatures down to -1.1 °C in the short term. However, the plant is not hardy.
In direct sunlight, older leaves may turn orange. The orange colouring complements the darker green and cream colours. The red leaf margins also freshen up the look.
Aeonium decorum Berry Nice is a charming cultivar of the classic Aeonium decorum from the Canary Islands. The name Berry Nice translates as 'pretty berry'. The name of the Aeonium genus comes from the Greek word 'aionios', which means 'eternal' or 'immortal', referring to the hardiness and longevity of these plants.
Unlike other cultivars of Aeonium decorum, the leaves are a darker green colour. The edges have a reddish-brown tinge. If the plant is placed in direct sunlight, older leaves can take on an orange tone. The edges of the leaves are slightly toothed and the rosettes reach up to 7.5 cm in diameter. The plant is characterised by strong and branched stems with many lateral branches, growing to a height of 25 cm.
Rarely, small pink flowers may appear in summer, developing on a stem-shaped inflorescence.
Aeonium decorum Berry Nice is characterised by its relatively fast growth and resistance to drought and short-term cold. It is a highly sought-after specimen by our customers and can please with its subtle yet striking colour combination.
