The epithet 'Albovariegatum' describes the form of this plant - white on the leaves.

Aeonium Albovariegatum, formerly also called Aeonium arboreum var. albovariegatum or Aeonium arboreum Albovariegatum, is a cultivar of the succulent plant Aeonium arboreum native to the Canary Islands. The name 'Albovariegatum' refers to the white variegated foliage that is a characteristic feature of this form. It was first described in 1959.

The rosettes of similarly coloured leaves consist of a green centre with white, cream and pale yellow margins. However, the colour combinations may vary slightly. The lance-shaped, spatulate leaves are usually dark red and slightly hairy around the edges. The rosettes grow to a considerable size, creating an attractive appearance. The shrubby succulent produces long woody stems and grows to a height of around half a metre. The plant forms indented side shoots.

The flowers are small and usually white, yellow or greenish in colour. They form clusters at the top of the florets. However, it rarely flowers.

It can be fertilised to encourage growth and maintain the beauty of the plant if deemed appropriate. In time it grows to a fairly large size. Aeonium Albovariegatum is a very desirable plant, ideal for decorating your gardens or balconies. It produces beautiful colourful shrubs that are easy to grow and quite hardy.
