The 'trigynus' species is therefore characterised by the great variability it offers growers. Adromischus trigynus Calico Hearts usually grows in sheltered rock crevices.
The leaves are grey-green with red spots and often a purple margin. Compared to the basic species, the leaves of this form are smaller and more minute. They tend to be compactly arranged and elliptical to rounded in shape. It is a compact dwarf succulent with a much branched tuberous base and short upright branches. The plant grows up to 4,5 cm tall and 12 cm in diameter.
Tubular flowers appear on the stem in spring.
