Adromischus cooperi, an unusual succulent plant native to South Africa, Eastern Cape Province. It is nicknamed the Plover Eggs Plant for its speckled leaves.
The purple-spotted, silvery-green to blue-green leaves are heavily fleshy and topped with a wavy margin. The intensity of the purple color of the spots varies depending on the amount of sunlight the plant receives. Thick, ground stems grow from thickened roots. Adromischus is a small shrub that usually grows up to 10 cm tall.
It flowers in summer and produces small, rather inconspicuous pink flowers that appear on tall stems.
Adromischus cooperi is characterised by its slow growth and can be fertilised if desired. It fascinates especially with its attractive fleshy leaves and pleases with its hardiness and ease of cultivation.
