Carpobrotus
Carpobrotus is a genus of succulent plants in the family Aizoaceae. This genus includes around 12 to 20 species and is native to South Africa. Plants of the genus Carpobrotus are known for their ability to spread rapidly and form dense mats that can cover large areas. Due to their drought tolerance, they are often used as ground cover in dry and sandy regions. The plants have fleshy leaves and showy flowers that appear in various colors, including pink, purple, yellow, and white. The fruits of Carpobrotus are edible and have been traditionally used in South Africa to make jams.
